LIEUTENANT KEVIN SUTHARD
336-634-3232
Lt. Kevin Suthard is the Rockingham County Sheriff's Office Public Information Officer. He has the important responsibility of serving as a liaison between the community and the Sheriff’s Office. We continually strive to maintain a cooperative climate so the media may obtain accurate information on matters of public interest in a manner, which doesn’t impede Departmental operations.
Specifically, as Public Information Officer, Lt. Suthard is responsible for the dissemination of accurate and timely public safety information to the community through media releases and various publications. To further assist the media, the Sheriff’s Public Information Officer routinely responds “at scene” to serious incidents.
Unfortunately, there are circumstances where certain information must be withheld in order to protect the constitutional rights of an accused suspect, to avoid interfering with an ongoing law enforcement investigation, or because it is legally privileged.
The Sheriff's Public Information Officer serves as the conduit through which the public is made aware of matters that are of interest to our community. As the official spokesperson for the Sheriff’s Office, he handles inquires from the general public and the news media concerning routine incidents, reports, photographs, emergency situations and the release of all official information.
ALL PUBLIC RECORDS REQUESTS AND REQUESTS FROM NEWS MEDIA OUTLETS FOR INTERVIEWS SHOULD BE MADE THROUGH OUR PUBLIC INFORMATION OFFICER, WHOSE CONTACT INFORMATION IS LISTED ABOVE.
In an effort to remain transparent, Lt. Suthard sends out News Releases detailing the activities of the Rockingham County Sheriff's Office, Crime Prevention and Safety tips and information about recent crimes reported to the Sheriff's Office. Many citizens have signed up to obtain these News Releases directly to their email and you can too by signing up using the link below:
