DONATE A NEW, UNWRAPPED TOY FOR LOCAL FAMILIES IN NEED AT THE ROCKINGHAM COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE 170 NC 65 REIDSVILLE, N.C.
Toy Donations are being accepted now through Dec. 15th, 2019 and will be given to the Salvation Army of Rockingham County for distribution to local families.
The Sheriff is an elected official and the chief law enforcement officer of the county. An important duty is to provide law enforcement services to the unincorporated areas of the county; however, he maintains law enforcement jurisdiction in all cities and townships within the county. The Sheriff is responsible for the protection of life and property. Enforcement includes criminal investigations, security of courtrooms, service of civil processes of the courts and responsible for the operation and maintenance of the county jail. Each of these services must be provided seven days a week, 24 hours a day. The duties of the Sheriff are set forth in North Carolina law.
The Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office consists of more than one hundred fifty personnel, divided between the Operations Bureau and the Detention Bureau.
We are located in the Law Enforcement Center on NC Highway 65 in Reidsville, North Carolina. The Administrative/ Operations Bureau is responsible for the law enforcement functions of the Department and the School Resource Officers Program. Sworn officers with the Sheriff’s Office have jurisdiction anywhere within the County. The Field Operations Unit provides 24-hour patrol protection to citizens of the County. The Criminal Investigation Section handles all follow-ups on crimes and the prosecution of suspects through the court system. Deputies in the Legal Process Division are charged with the service of both criminal and civil process throughout the County.

Samuel Scott Page was elected as the Sheriff of Rockingham County North Carolina in 1998 and continues serving in this capacity to the present day. Sheriff Page has 30+ years of experience in law enforcement, beginning his career as a K-9 Handler in the United States Air Force in 1975. During his distinguished career, Sheriff Page has performed a variety of law enforcement duties such as Patrolman, Criminal Investigator, and Administrator. Sheriff Page served as President of the North Carolina Sheriff's Association for the 2010-2011 term and is currently a member of the NCSA's Executive Committee.
Sheriff Page strives daily to improve the level of training and technology at the Sheriff's Office to better serve and protect the citizens of Rockingham County.
